There Can Be ONLY ONE!

Several years ago, a series of movies titled, "The Highlander" came and went. It was interesting entertainment with mythology and history nicely rolled together. A rule made often by the competitors was "there can be only one" meaning one of them must die with the victor living and ruling. The scenery, swords and sword fights were really magnificent.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

 

The Biblical stories of:

• Adam and Eve, Cain and Able
• Genesis 6.1-6.13
• Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

  Gen 6:3  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
• Gen 6:8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
• Gen 6:13  And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
• Exo 1:8-11  Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land. Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
  

  Exo 1:15-16  And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.  

seems to emphasize this element of life and rule.

Secular history of the:

• Philistines (now called Palestinians)
• Egyptian Pharaohs
• Greeks
• Romans
• Catholics or Protestants
• Mayans

reveals the warfare between rulers and domination over their citizens. Each ruler always craved more power and land and subjects and money to fund these cravings.

I am Texas Gulf Coast born and bred, medium to well done. Raised in a bi-partisan Christian and Devil home - Church on Sundays and Wednesday nights, Home work and TV during weekdays, and (for the adults) party time during Weekends.

This made for some confusion; read your Bible, attend church, pray over meals, do not get pregnant (girls) or get a girl pregnant (boys), don't drink or smoke before your 21 years old.

HUH!?!?

When I am doing the Christian thing, why would I be concerned about pregnancy or those other items? Conversely, when I am doing those other actions why would I be attending church or praying? Ya Feel Me?

Let's Fast Forward through my adult life.

As I flounder and ponder what is going on around me locally, nationally, and globally, I tend to get confused with what I see, hear and experience.

Government Helps Us.

HOAs protect our house and land value.

Governments expand and tax.

Dictators, Kings, Queens and Presidents.

Governments keep "getting involved" for their citizens good.

Taxes, more and more laws.

Governments start fights but send citizens to the fights.

We/I citizens gradually AND continually lose rights.

 

• I don't wear a helmet.
• The law mandates I wear a helmet.
• The law changes its mind and I can choose to wear or not.
• HOA (from Hell) mandates my grass can be so High per week.
• HOA says we can only Plant, Paint and Display what THEY want.
• IRS can and will take your...
• HOA can and will take our...
• Governments continue to expand and will take my...

Now these were petty UNTIL they affected ME and mine.

• I READ about the butchery of the children after Jesus' birth.
• I READ and SAW videos of the capturing and killing of Jewish people.
• I READ and SEE and HEAR of atrocities and personal rights removal in OTHER PLACES - FAR AWAY.
• Alabama: 1950s - 1970s
• California: 1960s
• Kent State
• Public Schools

And what I observed is an incredibly slow but steady movement toward a Global Domination by one type of Governing People craving Full, Unimpeded, Absolute Power.

 

A friend told me that NO person can handle a lot of power and even GOD will NOT give any person unrestricted power. How much is "a lot of power"? Depends on the person or group. Evaluate those in a position of power, you know.

 

I can count the people I know that willingly gave up their position and the power associated, on one finger. No:

• President,
• King or Queen,
• Dictator,
• Pastor, Evangelist, Teacher,
• Manager, Supervisor, Boss,
• Husband, Father, Wife, Mother
• Older Brother or Sister

willingly surrendered any authority OR power given them. Regardless of how wonderful and caring and loving and wise, etc. each person is said to be, when their time is up, they WILL FIGHT; often to their physical or spiritual death or the death of their opponent.

 

Remember - There Can Be And Will Be Only One (1)!

 

In the animal kingdoms a male taking over an existing group, family, herd, pride, pack, such as:

• lions,
• hippos,
• monkeys,
• gorillas,
• zebras,
• hyenas,

will immediately kill or exile the resident ruler and his offspring during and after the coup. The new male leader will not tolerate any supposed threat to his supremacy.  History records humans doing the same. Biblical history records the action of Satan against God and his creation and people.

The United Nations: A Look Into The Future

 

I have never desired to be or been thought of as an extremist or fanatical. I have been called:

• stubborn,
• determined,
• uncontrollable,
• rebellious,
• closed minded,
• opinionated,
• defiant,
• hard to: get along with, control, or subject to authority,

you probably have the idea. But I have never been called an extremist or fanatical.

 

Apparently, I have extremely agitated, angered, frustrated, and/or annoyed my pastors, bosses, some acquaintances and family members because of comments or actions. When I agree, GREAT; when I do not, I will fight OR leave but I will not submit.

 

Now to my hypothesis. Humans have two choices available: how they will rule and how they will be ruled. History reveals some will be ruled regardless of their conditions to retain perceived security; while others will suffer and die for freedom rather than security. History also reveals rulers who chose wisdom, compassion and godly leadership and expression of power to the benefit of their constituents.

 

What continues to be an irreconcilable conflict, to me, is that in spite of the overwhelming evidence of positive results from a Godly form of leadership and government, is the inevitable bend toward and subsequent application of an immoral, evil, destructive government administration. This evolution may require a century or more depending on the stature and prudence of the subjects.

 

The Media and most of us have moved on to fresh ratings material and today's lunch now that we have not been cataclysmically destroyed, December 21, 2012 or the next day. Generally, we Americans are an instant gratification society. After my first wife passed away, a friend called to encourage me, I guess, and suggested since I have been grieving about 3 weeks, it was time to pick up and move on. Of course his wife was still alive and well.

• Yesterday's news and worries.
• Last week's deaths and grief.
• Last years bills, debts.
• Last month's honeymoon, move on to new business.
• That loss of our rights was SO 1960s.

We have become a superficial, frivolous, foolish nation of people in ONLY 200 years.

 

America has been the quintessential standard of Christian living, individual freedom, family values, opportunities, with a responsible, moral, citizen oriented and responsive  government for the World. It appears, though, we are inexplicably going the way of every civilization previous to us.

Deu 32:28  For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

 

Psa_33:12  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Pro_14:34  Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Jer_5:15  Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

Jer_12:17  But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.

 IN THE END, 

THERE WILL BE ONLY ONE GOD and RULER
